‘Abbey Road Reference’ cable is the flagship in our range. We a proud to say that these cables are featured as the main loudspeaker cables used in EMI Abbey Road’s studios.

Designed with scientific principles and the guidance of some of the best engineers in the business, this high purity, ultra-stranded OFC copper (Cu) and silver (Ag) hybrid is optimised for speed and phase linearity in and well beyond the audio spectrum. It gives excellent imagery and a natural clarity across a wide range of production styles thus giving a sense of truth to the sound.

Abbey Road Reference Speaker cable is available as a two-core cable or in a 4-core format for bi-wire configuration. All the Abbey Road Reference speaker cables are made using 3mm Copper and silver hybrid conductors and suited to the more powerful, larger amplifier speaker systems

As standard we provide the terminated two-core style with Moving Air’s own 4mm connectors (MA4mm) which we have found give optimal overall connectivity performance. The bi-wire can be supplied terminated with your option of Moving Air’s 4mm connector or Neutrik Speakon connectors.

For the most exacting circumstances where exceptionally detailed response is required, it is recommended that bi-wire systems are wired using two individual two-core cables rather than one single b-Wire cable, as this further reduces capacitance to make an extremely fast cable system.

To enhance the connectivity of our speaker cable terminations, all our speaker cables are supplied with our special formulation connector fluid;- we call it ‘Moving Air Gel’. Based on a formula used by NASA for critical connections, Moving Air Gel is a suspension that increases the connector contact surface area by up to 80%, considerably improving conductivity at this critical point.

Technical Description

Two-core and four- core (bi-wire), 3 square mm, 784 copper-silver hybrid, phase coherent speaker cable.

Abbey Road Reference bi-wire cable is a high purity, ultra-stranded OFC copper (Cu) and silver (Ag) hybrid designed for speed and phase linearity in and well beyond the audio spectrum.

Each conductor consists of 784 strands. 448 are high purity OFC copper (Cu) strands and 336 are skinned with a high purity silver coating. This mix is to provide a balanced impedance path for both the audio signal and its ultra high harmonics so as to enhance phase coherence and linearity. The ultra-fine strands provide an equivalent conductive surface to a solid conductor of 2,365sqmm. That’s good news for high frequencies.

The conductors are suspended in an 85% air, 15% polyethylene foamed primary dielectric that is precision extruded within a secondary solid dielectric for consistent conductor to secondary dielectric spacing. This makes it an extremely fast and low capacitance cable.

Abbey Road Reference cable has the ability to control loudspeakers accurately across the full audio spectrum and into the very high musical harmonics to give outstanding detail, transparency and clarity.
